Position Summary
Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Short?Term Casual to support the SPOT?TB study, an NIH?funded, community?based clinical research study focused on improving tuberculosis (TB) screening strategies among high?risk populations in New York City.
This per diem position requires on?site work at community?based research locations in West Harlem and the Bronx, and regular coordination with clinical, imaging, and field research teams.
Responsibilities
Coordinates daily study operations across multiple community?based research sites.
Screens, enrolls, and consents study participants in accordance with approved protocols and regulatory requirements.
Completes, reviews, and maintains study data and documentation in REDCap and other required systems.
Coordinates activities with study staff, volunteers, imaging technicians, and mobile phlebotomy vendors.
Maintains enrollment, tracking, and regulatory logs; assists with reporting and audit readiness.
Serves as the primary operational contact for assigned study activities and resolves routine logistical issues.
Ensures compliance with study protocols, institutional policies, and human subjects protection standards.
Perform additional related duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in public health, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field.
Demonstrated organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently in community?based settings.
Preferred Qualifications
Master?s degree in public health or a related field.
Experience with REDCap and/or community?based research.
Other Requirements
Participation in the medical surveillance program for personnel with patient or human subjects contact.
Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
