The Environmental Services Department plays a vital role in ensuring that the hospital remains clean and safe for patients, staff, and visitors. As a member of this team, the main duties will be to clean and sanitize all areas of the hospital including patient rooms, offices, waiting areas, and meeting rooms.
The EVS Operations Manager assists with overseeing daily Environmental Services operations, coordinating frontline staff, and ensuring a high level of service for patients, visitors, and the community. This role supports department initiatives, promotes customer satisfaction and team engagement, and ensures compliance with all hospital, system, and regulatory policies and procedures.
Job Description:
Oversee day-to-day Environmental Services (EVS) operations and programs.
Conducts facility inspections and recommend improvements.
Develop staffing assignments and work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
Prepares operational, quality, and performance reports; maintains accurate records.
Coordinates services with vendors and outside contractors.
Ensures compliance with EVS policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and infection prevention standards.
Monitors facility conditions, inventory levels, and supply ordering.
Supports strategic planning, operational excellence, and department initiatives.
Identifies opportunities for quality improvement, cost savings, and service enhancements.
Assists with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and developing team members.
Supervises staff performance and promotes employee engagement.
Build collaborative relationships with staff, leaders, and other departments.
Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and team members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Two years job related experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience required with 1-2 years of supervisory experience in support service-related fields with high customer services and/or 1-2 years of Environmental Services.
