This position is responsible for operational functions to support the completeness, integrity, and privacy of medical record documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Provides phone and front desk support.
Responds to written ROI requests in accordance with Fairview policy, federal, state, and other regulatory requirements including but not limited to including email, MyChart, and CBO requests, chart reviews and audits, and activities related to electronic exchange of health information.
HIM Rep II primary tasks include the following along with a thorough understanding of basic ROI process. Requirements for valid authorization. Locate disclosure policies and resources. Call Center: Customer service basics, verify identity of callers, taking calls/scripting provided to employee. Epic: Locating the correct patient with 2 identifiers, logging a records request, logging an imaging request,
Retrieve records from Legacy systems. Retrieve records from microfilm. Retrieve records from microfiche. Retrieve records from off-site storage. Manage RightFax folders. Monitoring STAT requests for turnaround time. Complete CBO (center business/billing office) requests. Process MyChart requests. Process email requests. Epic work queues.
Process Livanta discharge appeals. Sorting mail. Sorting incoming faxed requests.
Associates Degree in health information management or related field, or comparable HIM work experience.
HIT Degree, HIM-related certification, or two years of HIM experience
