Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the oversight and direction of leadership, support and promote the achievement of Cedars-Sinai's mission and objectives by overseeing compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations. Assumes primary responsibility for department operational oversight, HR policy ownership, governance and harmonization and HR regulatory reporting requirements.
Maintains document ownership for all Cedars-Sinai HR policies, with primary responsibility for ensuring policy compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and policy responsiveness to Cedars-Sinai issues.
Serve as key Policy Committee member to draft policies and to drive consistency among HR policies organization wide.
Provide policy guidance and input to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Marina del Rey Hospital (MDRH), Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation and other affiliates as applicable.
Maintains up to date on employment and labor law and serves as a resource to other members of human resources and to Cedars-Sinai management.
Ensures that health system leadership are informed and in compliance with applicable employment laws and mandates.
Oversees development and dissemination of Cedars-Sinai's Affirmative Action Plan; oversees and ensures timely filing of Cedars-Sinai's EEO-1 and VETS-4212 reports. Serves as primary contact to government agencies (DOL, OFCCP, EEOC) regarding these programs.
Collaborates and consults with leadership within HR and in other organizational areas as appropriate on HR Compliance and related initiatives.
Provides WARN oversight. Evaluates layoff reports to determine WARN trigger. Prepares notifications to government and regulatory offices as indicated and responds to inquiries that may ensue.
Reviews, and contributes to education content for HR staff and Cedars-Sinai management and staff as required/needed regarding employment law-related requirements.
Participates in Medical Center committees and/or activities as appropriate.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
Master's Degree Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
License/Certification Requirements:
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) PHR/SHRM-CP strongly preferred.
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) SPHR/SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
Experience Requirements:
8 years of progressive, foundational, and focused HR experience with breadth of exposure and demonstrated depth of HR Knowledge developed.
5 years Responsibility for policy oversight and drafting and management of staff.
Strong California and federal focus with exposure to multi-state environment.
Experience with and knowledge of AAP, EEO-1 and VETS reporting.
