Position Number: 01924 School/College: School of Medicine Job Description: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking to hire an energetic individual for the position of Vice Chair for Education. The primary responsibility of the Vice Chair for Education is to oversee the complex educational mission of the Department, including the coordination of faculty, staff and trainees involved in that mission. This oversight includes educational initiatives across the spectrum of activities related to pipeline programs, undergraduate medical education (UME), graduate medical education (GME) at both residency and fellowship levels, continuing medical education (CME), and involvement of allied health students in the Department. To accomplish these goals, the Vice Chair coordinates the varied teaching activities of the Department and ensures that the Department provides the best training possible for learners of all levels. The efforts are directed at, but not limited to: Consideration will be given to board-certified MD/DO or PhD for a full-time position. Position is a twelve-month, open rank, open tenure faculty position. Salary and rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
