The Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (FSM) seeks highly qualified applicants for a full-time faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Responsibilities include collaborative research, independent statistical research, teaching, and supervision of Master's level statistical analysts. This faculty member will have committed effort within Northwestern University Data Analysis and Coordinating Center (NUDACC). The faculty member will be a collaborative leader with FSM investigators in overseeing the full life cycle of multicenter observational studies and clinical trials, including: study design and implementation; data collection tool development; data quality assessment and ongoing monitoring; regulatory reporting; statistical analysis; interpretation of results and manuscript preparation. The faculty member is expected to be a team leader and engage in both ongoing collaborative studies and grant proposal development, including the pursuit of funding for NIH consortium-level data coordinating center opportunities. Applicants with experience in collaborative research who are also interested in related methodological research such as innovative clinical trial design or observational data methods are especially encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities will be one quarter-long course per year in the Master of Science in Biostatistics Program. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biostatistics or Statistics, experience and interest in collaborating with bio-medical investigators on multicenter study conduct, scientific productivity related to biostatistical methodology, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of multidisciplinary teams. Academic primary appointment will be in the Division of Biostatistics, Department of Preventive Medicine, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. This full-time faculty position carries the title of Assistant or Associate Professor and is part of the Team Scientist faculty track. The Department of Preventive Medicine’s Division of Biostatistics consists of more than 20 faculty biostatisticians who provide a collegial environment. As part of general faculty responsibilities, participation in department meetings as well as departmental, school and university-wide committees is expected. Participation in scientific meetings and scholarly activities to build national reputation are encouraged and expected. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
