Supplemental research activities:Â Maintain detailed records of experimental data and generate reports/presentations for periodic lab discussions.Â Read and keep abreast of scientific and technical literature.Â
Lab maintenance:Â Assist with general lab duties:Â make common buffers, agar plates, maintain laboratory rooms and equipment, order and stock laboratory supplies, etc.Â
This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction.
Provides routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.
Collects and enters data. Assists in analysis of data and with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
Complies with institution, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
Performs other related work as needed.
Bachelorâ™s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field
Undergraduate laboratory work experience
Knowledge of basic chemistry, buffer prep, and calculations
Knowledge of research techniques and methods
Familiarity with standard lab equipment
Attention to detail
Verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
