A full-time research technician position is available in the Parent lab in the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Andrew Tidball, the position’s direct supervisor, seeks to understand the mechanisms of early brain malformations using human pluripotent stem cell models.
The candidate will be involved in human pluripotent stem cell studies and perform molecular biology experiments, plasmid cloning, PCR, immunocytochemistry, cryosectioning, immunofluorescence microscopy, and cell culture. In addition, the candidate will help with lab organization, assist with laboratory regulatory compliance issues, and assist with general laboratory duties such as glassware cleaning and making reagents. The position includes to opportunity to co-author empirical papers.
- Bachelor's degree in related field and 1 to 3 years related experience.
- Experience in cell culture and cell biology techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs as well as graphing and statistics programs will be given preference.
- Master's degree degree in neuroscience or related
- 4-6 years of research lab experience
