Provides legal advice, services and guidance to the College of Medicine, and as needed to University clinics, and healthcare operations and activities. Serves as Health Care Counsel as a part of the office of General Counsel.
Provides transactional, regulatory, and operational legal guidance and representation on health care matters affecting the University's College of Medicine, clinical providers and their operations and activities.
Drafts and analyzes health care contracts to include but not limited to affiliation agreements, service agreements, and managed care contracts.
Provides legal counsel on relevant federal and state health care laws and regulations, including anti-kickback, privacy (HIPAA and HITECH), the Stark Law, and the False Claims Act.
Provides guidance on Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and other uncompensated care issues.
Drafts health care policies, procedures, and consent forms.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
