As part of the Survey and Qualitative Methods Core (SQMC) at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and the Dana-Farber / Harvard Cancer Center (DFHCC), the SQMC Data Analyst supports small to large scale community, health services, and implementation science research projects that use survey, qualitative, and secondary data sources.?? This position works under the supervision of the Director and Scientists of the SQMC and follows established policies and procedures in order to support the data acquisition, processing, and management needs for studies that use the SQMC services. The Data Analyst also facilitates regulatory requirements for data acquisition and management, such as institutional review board protocols and Data Use Agreements, and enrollment reporting to external and internal stakeholder, as applicable. ??
Analyzes secondary data (e.g. Electronic Health Records, federal and state-wide surveys).
Retrieves and processes non-research data according to research protocol.
Facilitates regulatory requirements for data acquisition and management. Interacts with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for protocol submission and continuing reviews.
Attends and contributes to research in progress meetings.
Maintains a complete record of research activities and results in a reproducible manner.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Bachelor???s degree in data science, statistics, or quantitative field with relevant course or project work.
Experience coding in R, producing reproducible data products, and data visualizations.
Excellent programming skills, particularly in R.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work on a team.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
Careful attention to detail.
Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for research participants??? rights and individual needs.
