Our Neuromodulation business is an area of expertise for Abbott. Our site in Austin, TX is looking for a Manager, Conventions & Events. This manager will work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement programs focused on expanding awareness for neuromodulation. The role will be involved in supporting Abbott's marketing efforts for its groundbreaking therapies and products globally. This position will lead a team responsible for trade shows and events that promote marketing programs, while partnering with brand and product managers to develop strategies, tools and vehicles to showcase and promote therapies in support of existing and/or new programs.
What You'll Do
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Project management of programs and events that will help grow the business and drive a consistent and world-class customer experience.
Work collaboratively with a diverse team of partners including product marketing, brand managers, U.S. commercial sales, OEC, legal and regulatory to develop and execute effective programs.
Manage the conventions and events team responsible for tradeshows, customer events, advisory boards and other in-person and virtual events.
Serve as a liaison with agencies and vendors to establish priorities, manage timelines and budgets for multiple projects, ensuring appropriate and cost-effective use of resources.
Promote and utilize analytical methods to establish and evaluate all programs.
Required to work with legal, regulatory and OEC teams to ensure all materials are routed through the correct systems according to standard operating procedures.
Travel up to 30%.
Experience and Education You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or equivalent preferred.
7 plus years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area.
Experience leading a team of events professionals.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a cross-functional environment are essential.
Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization.
Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and the impact it has on the business.
Will perform job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
Strong project management, agency/vendor management, organization and tactical execution skills.
Comfortable driving a process with multiple stakeholders and leading meetings.
Strong collaborator as well as a demonstrated ability to influence, motivate and lead others is required.
Ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities to meet deadlines.
Ability to work cross-functionally, independently and motivated to perform at a high-level without constant supervision.
Proficient in digital and web marketing tactics.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to think and work both strategically and tactically are required.
Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) preferred but not required.
