Responsible for data management in a series of international multi-center public health trials. Will work with project IT personnel to design and develop research databases with associated data collection forms/screens that provide high level validation and quality control features. Will be responsible for the design and maintenance of data collection forms, and creating Manuals of Operations and Data Management Procedures manuals, and the circulation of Operations Memos to announce changes to protocol or data collection procedures. Will design a SAS research data library and build programs to import data from data collection systems and other external sources.
Will build and implement quality control procedures to: ensure accrual of complete, accurate, and timely data; monitor biospecimen accrual and delivery; automatically flag lost or delayed biospecimens; and prompt study personnel to act on serious adverse events that require timely regulatory action. Will design and implement regularly scheduled summary reports on accrual, retention, and database status for distribution to study leadership as well as ad hoc reports when issues arise.
Will support study biostatisticians by creating analysis datasets with summary scores and other calculated variables. Will be responsible for both archiving data at study's end, and preparing deidentified tables for public sharing through NHLBI's BioLINCC data repository. The position requires a master's degree and at least two years' experience in data processing environment, preferably in clinical trials. The successful incumbent will work independently in a proactive approach to data management, understanding the science and goals of the project and its protocol while maintaining the attention to detail that is necessary to create a robust data management system that will ensure a high quality research database.
Previous experience in a data processing position, preferably in a public health or other clinical environment. Bachelor's degree with 7+ years relevant experience will also be considered.
