The Coordinator, Government Relations supports NAEMT advocacy efforts. Key duties include administrative support, committee coordination, preparing and managing communications, and tracking legislation, rulemakings, meetings, and events. Assists with the annual EMS On the Hill Day. Additionally, the coordinator will assist with research, drafting papers, and dissemination of communications as needed. This is a remote position, although ideal candidate will be within commuting distance to Washington, DC for meetings on Capitol Hill as needed. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Works closely and provides administrative help to the Director, Government Relations to track relevant legislative and regulatory issues, analyze policy, and keep members and stakeholders informed through regular communications
• Provides administrative assistance and project management to Advocacy Committee, Economics Committee, and Corporate Engagement Council; manages and tracks project timelines and deliverables; schedules meetings and prepares/distributes meeting agendas and communications
• Supports the association’s grassroots advocacy through NAEMT’s advocacy coordinator network; coordinates volunteer appointments; organizes related meetings and events; creates and maintains live and recorded orientation
• Manages the Online Legislative Service; works with staff and volunteer leadership to determine and develop campaigns; analyzes campaign data and reports
• Helps draft and disseminate comments and letters in collaboration with committees and senior leadership in response to issues affecting NAEMT’s advocacy priorities
• Conducts research and surveys; gathers and analyzes data to inform policy needs and enhance responsiveness to industry needs
• Works with the marketing team to prepare content for NAEMT emails, newsletters, social media, and EMS Vitals
• Supports the annual EMS On the Hill Day activities
• Supports PAC development and activities
• Creates presentations and supporting materials for meetings
• Helps identify, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for advocacy team
• Attends industry meetings (virtual and in-person), as appropriate
• Other duties, as assigned

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience working with government relations functions
• Experience working with nonprofit entities

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Occasionally move or lift objects up to 15 pounds
• Some travel may be required
