About the Role: Human Resources Manager
ChemDAQ is seeking a Human Resources Manager to drive recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and employee development efforts as we scale. This role is central to strengthening our presence in the Pittsburgh tech and economic development community while ensuring our internal HR programs create a positive, high-performance experience for every employee.
You will shape ChemDAQ’s talent strategy, champion our mission and culture, and build the HR infrastructure needed to support a fast-moving, innovative organization.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position. Candidates must be in the Pittsburgh office 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting
Lead full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing to hiring.
Write and post engaging job descriptions across key platforms.
Build ChemDAQ’s local recruiting pipeline through partnerships with the Pittsburgh Technology Council, Catalyst Connection, universities, and workforce/economic development groups.
Represent ChemDAQ at job fairs, networking events, and tech meetups.
Strengthen employer brand and culture messaging to attract mission-aligned talent.
Onboarding & Employee Growth
Deliver a seamless, engaging onboarding experience.
Partner with managers to create role-specific training and development plans.
Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Lead the rollout of a centralized HR portal for resources, workflows, and documentation.
Employee Development & Engagement
Design and launch training and growth programs that support career progression.
Collaborate with leadership to forecast skill needs and align development strategies.
Track and analyze engagement and training metrics to guide improvements.
Benefits, Payroll & Compliance
Serve as the go-to contact for employee benefits and guidance.
Review, optimize, and administer ChemDAQ’s benefits programs.
Manage benefits enrollment and employee education.
Oversee payroll administration to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Keep all HR policies up to date and compliant with labor laws and regulatory requirements.
Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure a consistent, compliant employee experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification—SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR—is a plus).
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and compliance.
Hands-on experience implementing HR systems or portals.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Experience managing benefits programs and coordinating with vendors.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment.
High integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information.
