The Data Analyst will provide support in a busy Anatomic Pathology lab.
45% - The Data Analyst will provide support in a busy Anatomic Pathology lab. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to prepare own correspondence, type, edit and format medical reports, documents, manuscripts, articles and course materials. Provide administrative support to Division directors. Maintain calendar schedule, organize internal and external meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements. Handle multiple telephone lines, take detailed messages and direct incoming calls, and maintain and order office and laboratory supplies.
40% - Will perform an assortment of data entry, statistical reports, retrieve, compile, analyze, and manipulate data in order to generate summary reports. In addition the candidate will assist senior management by manipulating, and interpreting sensitive data for regulatory compliance and Quality Assurance/Improvement. Must be able to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines. Will perform other duties pertaining to the proper functioning of the work unit.
10% - Transcribe audio tapes and written text into laboratory information system. Triage and accession patient samples. Read, fax and/or mail test results in accordance with established policy and procedure. Must maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with policy and procedure. Fax, mail, file and maintain records. Will be responsible for collecting data, entering and manipulating and maintaining data in database.
5% - Perform other related duties as related to operation of work unit.
Bachelor???s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus two years of related experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft, Excel and pivot tables.
Know medical terminology and/or scientific terminology required.
Knowledge of billing codes (ICD9 and CPT) required.
Must be proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office.
Typing 65+ wpm. Familiarity with CoPath or similar Anatomic Pathology Laboratory system a plus.
Must have excellent grammatical, communications and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, ability to set priorities and meet deadlines a must.
Knowledge of CAP and New York State Department of Health Standards.
Must successfully complete systems training requirements.
