Background: In 2007, WateReuse Florida (WRFL) was established by the WateReuse Association (National) as a State Section to promote water recycling among Florida’s water providers more effectively. The WateReuse Association is the nation’s only trade association focused on advocating for policies, funding, and best management practices that facilitate the adoption of water reuse nationally, including in the State of Florida. WateReuse Florida currently advocates for policies to sustainably manage, conserve, and protect the State’s abundant water resources. Its membership is comprised of utilities, consultants, and industries. The mission of WRFL is to inspire and empower Florida communities and businesses to maximize water recycling through WRFL’s advocacy, education, outreach, and promotion of innovation and technology. Job Summary: As the Managing Director, you are responsible for providing leadership and management of daily WRFL operations and services, including oversight of WRFL-sponsored events and activities. Other duties may also be assigned. Anticipated compensation would be $40k –$56k. This will be a ½ time position. Florida residency is required.
Management Support for WRFL Board of Trustees (BOT) and Committees
· Provide administrative support for the BOT and Committees. This includes maintaining official records and documents in a shared cloud-based application.
· Maintain an active rolling calendar of planned meetings, events, and required reports. Specific items include but are not limited to National, Section, WRFL BOT, executive committee, standing and ad hoc committee meetings as well as due dates for quarterly section reports and quarterly newsletters.
· Attend WRFL BOT meetings, executive committee meetings, and standing and ad hoc committee meetings.
· Coordinate with the WateReuse National Section Liaison as needed.
· Coordinate and support the Section’s Treasurer in budget development, monitoring expenses, and projecting revenue.
WateReuse Association (National) Engagement
· Coordinate with National to maintain an active database of state and national WateReuse presentations, membership rosters, and scheduled events.
· Serve as point of contact to request WRFL membership comment on regulatory and legislative topics and collect, compile, and present responses to the BOT Executive Committee for review.
· Assist in communications with National as directed.
· Attend the WateReuse Symposium, held annually in March, to engage with National and Section leaders.
Education and Communication
· Lead in planning webinars, in-person meetings, and the WRFL annual meeting.
· Lead in the event registration process and event-related communications.
· Lead in arranging for and tracking PDH credits for webinar and in-person meetings as requested.
· Work collaboratively with the WateReuse Communications Director to update WRFL web content and generate new educational content.
· Actively manage WRFL's social media presence through LinkedIn and other social media platforms to communicate relevant updates and information in a timely manner.
Member Engagement, Recruitment, and Retention
· Work collaboratively with the National Membership Director and WRFL Membership Committee to assist the onboarding process and manage the annual renewal process.
· Support and track membership recruitment efforts.
· Identify opportunities for member engagement.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3-5 years relevant experience.
· Knowledge of the water sector and, preferably, water reuse as an alternative water supply.
· Skills and experience in a management role with a non-profit organization or similar enterprise.
· Planning experience for technical meetings and events.
· Experience working with others on successful networking and membership growth.
· Strong work ethic and communications experience required

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong organization skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and strong follow through.
