Rutgers The State University is seeking a Program Director in the Community Outreach Services within Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare.
The primary purpose of the Program Director position is to provide administrative and clinical direction and oversight to assigned programs, assure program integrity and fiscal viability. Responsible for ongoing program development and compliance with regulatory requirements. Assures program viability.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides administrative and clinical direction for program.
Directs the administrative and clinical organization of the program.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, including the administration of its grants and revenue sources.
Effectively and appropriately delegates responsibility and authority as observed by staff assignments.
Directs oversight and coordination of all research initiatives.
Develops a comprehensive range of services as indicated by the program's ability to accommodate appropriate consumer referrals.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Master's Degree in a behavioral health discipline and seven (7) years of postgraduate experience in a relevant behavioral healthcare setting.
An appropriate doctorate may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.

PHYSICALDEMANDS: Job entails frequent listening and communicating with people individually, in groups, as well as on the telephone. Ability to speak clearly is required. Must be able to document using computer and an Electronic Medical Record. Fast paced program environment that demands constant attention to multiple programmatic needs. The employee spends much time sitting, driving, walking, and standing. Job requires ability to climb up and down stairs. Significant driving with variable driving conditions throughout the state.
WORKENVIRONMENT: The work environment includes community based services and outreach. Subject to unpredictable situations and crises, to include behavioral, medical and psychiatric. Occasionally exposed to individuals exhibiting assaultive behaviors. Exposure to blood borne pathogens that requires use of personal protective equipment.
