About Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago
The Audiology Department at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago serves patients birth through 18 and their families and provides full diagnostic and rehabilitative services on an in-patient and out-patient basis including: newborn hearing screenings, unsedated and sedated Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) and Auditory Steady State Response (ASSR), otoacoustic emissions (OAE), behavioral audiological evaluation using Visual Reinforcement (VRA), Conditioned Play (CPA) and conventional audiometric techniques, hearing aid evaluation, selection, fitting and verification, cochlear implant candidacy evaluation, device selection, mapping and troubleshooting as well as aural habilitation services provided by trained speech/language pathologists. Many of our patients have multiple medical conditions and can be difficult to test.
