In compliance with applicable State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption. Requests for medical exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved medical exemption is required to start work.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster two months after completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19. Because vaccine-induced immunity can wane over time, MSK continues to strongly urge all staff to get a COVID-19 booster as soon as they become eligible to maintain their protective immunity for a longer period.
Job Description
We have an open Chemotherapy Pharmacist position at our Main Campus.
R5 Chemo Pharmacists are responsible for providing all of the chemotherapy for inpatients at main campus as well as providing chemotherapy and supportive care for a number of outpatient services in and around main campus.
You will:
- Verify and prepare investigational, chemotherapy, and non-chemotherapy agents
- Good septic and compounding skills
- Enter premeds and anti-emetics per institutional guidelines
- Have a good understanding of inpatient operation and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
- Execute cleanroom operations
- Be capable (or willing to train) in chemotherapy compounding, including intrathecal and ophthalmic preparations.
- Other duties as needed
You are:
- Highly motivated and able to work well with others in a demanding environment
- Able to adopt a culture centered around patient safety and cleanroom sterility
- Able to make sound judgements even with incomplete information
- Able to suggest changes to workflow to improve patient care
- Someone with a strong sense of ownership and willingness to learn in an empowering environment
- Someone with a substantial understanding of computer and pharmacy systems
- Someone with a supportive attitude towards others' beliefs and ideas
You have:
- Valid NY Pharmacist license
- Pharm.D (or equivalent)
- Prior hospital pharmacy and chemotherapy experience preferred
- Strong computer skills and the ability to develop a good understanding of pharmacy systems
Hours:
- Evening position with rotating shifts starting as early as 7 AM and ending as late as 11 PM
- Rotating weekends required and some holiday coverageHours and schedule subject to change to meet the needs of the department.
