Research Technician
The Research Technician will be expected to maintain and conduct experiments with arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal in vitro colonies. The individual will grow AM fungi with transformed carrot roots, lettuce seedlings, and other plants on petri plates filled with minimal media agar. The individual will need to make, sterilize, and pour plates with minimal media agar and various nutrient treatments, maintain AM fungal colonies of Rhizophagus irregularis on petri plates, and set up experiments manipulating nutrient contents. Experiments will be imaged using a Nikon dissecting microscope and analyzed using Nikon Elements software and/or ImageJ.
