Position SummaryThe laboratory of Dr. Wieland at the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) studies the immunological landscape of human papillomavirus-associated head and neck cancer (HNC). Central questions of the lab are which viral antigens are being targeted, which immune cell subsets participate in anti-tumor responses, and how they interact. The lab employs several state-of-the-art techniques to address these questions using predominately patient-derived specimens. In addition, the lab is actively engaged in the production of recombinant proteins and human monoclonal antibodies to support our own work as well as other researchers worldwide.
