At South Shore Health, we come together to improve the health of our family, friends and neighbors by bringing together people, caregivers and excellence in medicine. We are seeking a Credentials Manager to lead the credentialing and privileging processes for all medical staff and providers across our health system. In this role, you’ll oversee database accuracy, regulatory compliance, and committee coordination while guiding a high-performing team to ensure efficient, quality-driven operations. This is an onsite position with hybrid option after training.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging activities for South Shore Health staff and providers
Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), CMS, and Medical Staff Bylaws
Manage credentialing databases and maintain complete, accurate provider records
Lead, mentor, and evaluate credentialing staff while driving process and system improvements
Coordinate the Credentials Committee, FPPE/OPPE reviews, and related medical staff functions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or associate degree in healthcare or related field, or equivalent experience
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional in Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within 2 years
5+ years of experience in medical staff services or CVO, including 2 years in a supervisory or management role
Proficiency with credentialing systems (Verity/CredentialStream preferred) and Microsoft Office
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
