As we transition leadership following the retirement of our long-tenured director, we seek a strategic, knowledgeable, and faith-driven professional to lead our financial aid operations.

About the Role:
As the Director of Financial Aid, you will lead the financial aid office, overseeing compliance, financial counseling, and scholarship management while ensuring that Malone University remains committed to its Christian mission. You will play a critical role in ensuring that students receive the financial support they need while maintaining adherence to all federal, state, and institutional policies.
Core Roles
Financial Aid Counseling & Packaging
Lead financial aid counseling sessions and workshops.
Package financial aid for new and returning students, making adjustments as necessary.
Scholarship & Compliance Management
Oversee scholarships and awards, ensuring compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.
Monitor Federal Work-Study eligibility and academic progress.
Operations & Strategic Planning
Ensure financial aid operations comply with all regulations and institutional policies.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial aid office.
Expected Outcomes
Within 15 Days:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of Malone University’s financial aid policies and faith-driven approach.
Build relationships with the financial aid team, faculty, and key institutional partners.
Review current scholarship programs and aid packaging processes.
Within 30 Days:
Confidently oversee financial aid counseling sessions and workshops.
Identify areas for improvement in financial aid processing and compliance tracking.
Develop initial strategies for optimizing operational efficiency.
Within 45 Days:
Demonstrate autonomy in leading financial aid operations and ensuring compliance.
Implement improvements to financial aid packaging and scholarship distribution.
Provide recommendations for streamlining office processes and enhancing student support.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
Financial Aid Leadership: 3-5 years of experience as a Financial Aid Director or in a progressively responsible supervisory role.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal and state financial aid programs and compliance requirements.
Technology Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
Mission-Driven Leadership: Ability to integrate faith into leadership and decision-making while supporting students of diverse backgrounds.
Nice to Have:
Experience with PowerFaids/Jenzabar software operating systems.
Strong analytical skills to assess financial aid trends and optimize processes.
Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures for efficiency.
Work Environment: Fully onsite at Malone University.
Benefits:
Paid Time Off & Leave Benefits: 9 paid holidays, vacation (3 weeks for Years 1-9, 4 weeks at Year 10), 2 personal days, military leave (2 weeks), bereavement leave, and volunteer service-learning trips (10 days per academic year for Malone-sponsored trips). Sick leave starts at 21.5 days for a partial year, increasing to 43 days (Years 1-5) and 180 days (Year 5+).
