Under the direct supervision of the Director of Administrative Services, the Optometry Services Manager provides managerial and technical oversight to Ashe U SEE LA Optometry. The Optometry Services Manager plans, manages, and monitors all operational, professional and clinical activities in the optometry department and has responsibility for oversight of all ordering of materials and merchandise including optical and sun eyeglass frames, spectacle lenses, contact lenses, over the counter medical and sundry products and all supplies and other needs for optometry.

5 years Experience working in an optometry environment (Required) And
3 years Experience supervising and managing an optometry unit (Preferred)
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. (Required)
Organizational skills to prioritize work when faced with competing requirements, and interruptions to meet deadlines. (Required)
Skill in using a PC, and knowledge of software such as MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. (Required)
Ability to effectively interact with students, and staff from diverse cultural, ethnic/racial, social and sexual orientations. (Required)
Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to convey accurate information to individuals at all levels of the organization. (Required)
Ability to edit, proofread, and compose written materials using correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. (Required)
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. (Required)
Comprehensive knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology. (Required)
Knowledge of various sterilization methods of different types of lenses, including chemical, heat, and ultrasound. (Required)
General knowledge of optometry treatments and procedures. (Required)
General knowledge of student health policies and procedures. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Required)
American Board of Opticianry Certification Upon Hire (Required) And
National Contact Lens Examiners Certification Upon Hire (Required)
