The ideal candidate will study how histone PTMs regulate transcription and associated processes in vivo and in vitro, as they relate to basic biology as well as in disease.
70%: Experimental design and implementation. Design and perform experiments to assess the regulatory roles for histone PTM-interacting proteins in transcription and associated processes.
10% Training/supervision of technicians and undergraduate students. Train new technical staff in standard biochemical and molecular biology techniques and supervise data acquisition on a day-to-day basis
15% Drafting extramural research proposals and manuscripts reporting study results. Will work with direct supervisor to plan and draft research grants to continue project as well as manuscripts reporting study results.
5% Participation in seminars, journal clubs and symposia. Will present at least 1 formal seminar per year (locally or at a relevant national meeting) and attend relevant local seminars and journal clubs.
