The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified and innovative individual for a tenure-track position in the field of Clinical Pathology and Cell and Gene Therapy. This position will include an academic appointment within the Division of Clinical Pathology, with a primary focus on developing a research program in cell therapy, gene therapy, and translational science and playing an active clinical role as the Assistant Director of the Cell Therapy Laboratory.
The successful candidate will be provided with a competitive start-up package to facilitate the establishment of a dynamic and independent research program. We are particularly interested in candidates with an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., board eligibility in Clinical Pathology and/or Transfusion Medicine and Stem Cell Therapy, and expertise in the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying disease pathophysiology. Faculty members are expected to contribute to the Department's graduate, residency, and fellowship teaching programs and actively engage in mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop an impactful, mechanism-based research program focused on cell and gene therapy.
Participate in teaching and mentoring within the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology.
Serve as Assistant Director of the Cell Therapy Laboratory, contributing to the development, implementation, and oversight of innovative cell therapy protocols.
Collaborate with departmental and interdisciplinary teams to advance translational research within clinical pathology and cell and gene therapy.
Minimum Education/Qualifications
M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with board eligibility in Clinical Pathology and/or Transfusion Medicine and Stem Cell Therapy.
Other Qualifications
Demonstrated academic excellence and a strong record of scholarly productivity in research related to cell therapy and/or molecular mechanisms of disease.

Hiring Salary Range:
Assistant Professor at CUMC: $260,000 - $295,000
