Radiation Safety Specialist
Under the supervision of the UCSF Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and with minimal oversight, the Radiation Safety Specialist (RSS) acts as a subject matter expert in radiation safety for Campus Departments, the Medical Center, and EHS professionals. This position is responsible for monitoring the use of radioactive materials, radiation producing equipment, lasers, non-ionizing radiation sources; performs routine audits of laboratories, radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiation oncology departments; conducts radiation safety training, and assists medical staff in the therapeutic administration of sealed and unsealed radioactive materials.
