Speech-Language Pathologist for acute care services.
Evaluation and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders in an academic university hospital acute care setting
Opportunities for increasingly complex diagnostic work, including completion of outpatient videofluoroscopic swallow studies; FEES and clinical swallow evaluations.
Documentation of clinical findings, adhering to regulatory agency and insurance requirements
Education of patients and families regarding communication and swallowing disorders
M.A. or M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
State of Michigan licensure
Progressively complex experience with the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, resonance, cognitive-communicative and swallowing disorders.
Excellent or strong communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to work effectively with medical and allied health professionals within an interdisciplinary team
Not a clinical fellowship year (CFY) position
Full-time position with benefits; including professional development funding
Previous experience in an acute care hospital
Ability to perform and interpret videofluoroscopic swallowing studies
NOTE: Full time position, 40 hours/week will include weekends
