Description of Work:
UNL has an opportunity for qualified candidates to apply for an IRB Reliance Coordinator position within the Office of Research Compliance Services at one of three levels.
The IRB Reliance Coordinator performs functions related to the oversight, guidance and direction of the UNLHRPP processes and policies with a particular focus on single IRB (sIRB) reliance agreements-exempt and expedited-and full-board IRB project review. The primary focus of this position is serving as the main point of contact and providing guidance to investigators needing to establish the use of the UNLIRB as a sIRB or rely on an external IRB. This position will have other duties as assigned related to the review of human subjects protocols. The IRB Reliance Coordinator II and III will also have duties related to the conduct of full board IRB meetings.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
IRB Reliance Coordinator I: Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience at a research university or in a clinical or regulatory environment; equivalent education/experience considered. Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong decision-making, planning, and organizational skills; solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills. Understanding of policy and procedure interpretation and implementation. Demonstrated ability to work in a complex multi-tasking environment.
IRB Reliance Coordinator II: Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience at a research university or in a clinical or regulatory environment; equivalent education/experience considered. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making, planning, and organizational skills; solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills. Prior experience with policy and procedure interpretation and implementation. Demonstrated ability to work in a complex multi-tasking environment.
IRB Reliance Coordinator III: Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience at a research university or in a clinical or regulatory environment; equivalent education/experience considered. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making, planning, and organizational skills; solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills. Prior experience with complex policy and procedure interpretation and implementation. Demonstrated ability to work in a complex multi-tasking environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
IRB Reliance Coordinator I: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field. CITI Trained. Completion of CIP.
IRB Reliance Coordinator II: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field. 4 years of relevant experience at a research university or in a clinical or regulatory environment. CITI Trained, CIP or CIM Certification.
IRB Reliance Coordinator III: Master's degree in a STEM field. 6 years of relevant experience at a research university or in a clinical or regulatory environment. Decision-making experience. Supervisory experience. CITI Trained, CIP or CIM Certification.
