The purpose of this position is to meet the nonimmigrant needs of international students. The Immigration Coordinator will work collaboratively within Office of International Affairs, with colleagues across campus, and with all the necessary federal agencies to serve that purpose. The Immigration Coordinator for students is a member of the International Student and Scholar team. As Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 students, advises international students on maintaining lawful nonimmigrant status through evaluation, analysis and interpretation of federal non-immigrant regulations; advises also on cross-cultural issues and other concerns to increase student success.
