The Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives (AIEC) is looking for a Training and Safety Instructor to join our team. The AIEC is a statewide organization who provides services to the electrical distribution, generation, transmission, and communication cooperatives of Illinois.
The successful candidate should be knowledgeable in electrical delivery systems and work processes. A background as a journeyman lineman or key utility role is preferred but not required. They must be able to have educated discussions on industry specific topics, be versed in standards set by our regulatory organizations, and facilitate a learning environment that offers leadership and guidance while promoting safe working practices.
The responsibilities of this position will include the following:
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
The ability to speak publicly for groups large and small.
Have the versatility to offer learning content to multiple groups including office staff, management, line personnel, and directors.
Develop and build programs to engage employees in a positive manner.
The ability to use technology and computers.
Manage time and schedule to complete work assignments.
Maintain a high level of industry knowledge, rules, and regulations.
Assist at line schools, regional training, and other events as needed.
Continually engage members for input to ensure the highest level of satisfaction.
Conduct and complete all regulatory and required training.
This position requires a self-motivated individual who possesses a strong desire to make a positive impact on safety culture. They must be team oriented with the ability to network. Early start times and travel with some overnights are to be expected. There are many opportunities to learn by attending training and conferences. CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor
Trenching/Shoring Competent Person
OSHA 10/30 Hour
Illinois Herbicide License
Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) or Certified Utility Specialist
