This attorney will serve as the senior employment attorney responsible for a wide range of employment law matters, including HR regulatory counseling, dispute resolution, litigation, contracts and appointments, faculty personnel matters (including tenure), as well as University policy impacting various employment matters. This attorney will establish a close partnership with senior administrators, and will serve as the primary attorney contact for the Academic Personnel Office and the Office of Human Resources. This attorney will serve as the senior attorney when issues involving faculty and staff are embedded in complex health care administrative matters. This attorney will work in consultation with Director of University Governance & Associate University Counsel on faculty and staff matters that intersect with governing boards, including the Board of Trustees or the Board of Governors. This attorney will partner with other attorneys within the Office of University Counsel (OUC) to provide expertise on employment-related matters in all practice areas, including but not limited to research, medical affairs, privacy, litigation, general transactions, international matters, and student-related issues. This attorney will support other attorneys within OUC to provide routine employment advice, manage EEOC complaints, and assist with employment litigation matters.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of ten years of relevant legal experience.
