Our program is offering a fourth year placement and are accepting applications for the 2023-24 externship year. This is a full-time position and runs approximately from June/July 2023-June/July 2024.
Our hospital is located in the heart of Midtown Detroit and is surrounded by restaurants and shopping. There are many things to do within a short walk or drive from our facility, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Michigan Science Center and The Detroit Opera House to name a few. We are neighbors with the local research college, Wayne State University, which hosts a medical and law school and can be a great opportunity to share rent with other graduate students. All of Detroit’s professional sports teams are housed within the downtown area, as well as concert venues like the Historical Fox Theater and the Filmore Detroit. The river front in downtown Detroit and Belle Isle Park are great places for biking, walking and running, and our international neighbors, Canada, are just a tunnel or bridge crossing away!
Our Audiology clinic includes eight audiologists and three health technicians. Audiology services provided are audiological assessments, hearing aid selections and fittings to include BAHA, ENG/VNG to include Posturography and Rotary Chair, evoked potential testing to include ABR, ECoG with Wic electodes, VEMPs and ENoG, as well as OAEs (diagnostic and screening). Verifit 2 real ear equipment is offered in every audiology dispensing room. We also offer telehealth services for hearing aid fittings and hearing aid checks.
