At Houston Methodist, the Human Research Protections (HRP) IRB Coordinator position is responsible for regulatory compliance that supports the Human Research Protections Office (HRPO) and the Institutional Review Boards (IRB). This position evaluates study submissions to determine consistency with federal regulations, institutional policies and IRB requirements for approval and works with researchers to correct deficiencies in a proactive and supportive fashion. The HRPP IRB Coordinator position records and compiles regulatory determinations at IRB meetings and manages the creation of meeting minutes This position manages the creation of determination letters for IRB reviews and provides support to HRP Analysts and Office of Research Protections (ORP) leadership in the management of committee reviews, as needed. As part of the HRPP team the IRB Coordinator must be a self-starter. Opportunities for growth and development within the Office of Research Protections are provided and encouraged.
