You will:
- Retrieve and return the MSK vehicle to/from the designated area on a scheduled workday.
- Conduct a pre-trip inspection of the vehicle, ensuring that it is operating accurately. Pre-trip inspection includes listening for irregular sounds in the motor; ensuring the vehicle has a clean exterior and a neat interior, fuel, and other vital fluids, (i.e. in mechanically sound condition.), and ensuring that all lights, lamps, and signals are functioning accurately.
- Adhere to all rules and regulations for transporting items depending on regulatory requirements and ensure regulatory documents are completed and signed (i.e. chain of custody, bill of lading).
- Provide for the efficient internal delivery of items (i.e. stat mail pharmacy items, chemo medications, medical supplies, materials, specimens, blood samples)
- Retrieve items from the staging area and deliver them to a designated location.
- Complete designated rounds for collection or drop off of materials and specimens throughout shift as required by departmental volume and/or schedule. Stop at each designated pick-up location as per the departmental procedure. Completes specimen log at all pick-up locations.
- Walk materials/specimens to building in proximity to transport location foot messenger in inclement weather as needed.
- In the absence of materials to be picked up, the messenger should indicate this in the comment section by writing, "NO P/U" Any discrepancies on the log should be brought to the attention of the department lead or supervisor (i.e. Item not logged).
- Complete all departmental or regulatory documentation for transports as required.
- Provide coverage in areas assigned by department lead and manager.
- Keep vehicle clean, orderly, and in good operating condition (e.g. washes the vehicle).
- Ensure that the vehicle has fuel and that all fluids, (windshield washer, power steering, motor oil) are at recommended levels to ensure that the vehicle runs efficiently.
- Report unusual sounds and irregularities in the vehicle's operation, to the Lead Supervisor, immediately.
- Maintain the schedules for vehicle operation as assigned by the departmental lead and supervisor.
- May possess MSK Corporate Credit Card and record transactions in eCommerce system.
You Have:
- 2 yrs of experience preferred
- Driven for a major organization
- CDL Class B or higher (no passenger limit restrictions and passenger endorsement)
- Knowledge of basic internet navigation; email
Work Schedule: Full-Time hours: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday-Friday
