Senior Project Manager, FACET Project University of California Los Angeles

Position Description: The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Information Technology Services organization is seeking a Senior Project Manager with an exceptional commitment to service excellence to join our FACET Project team. The FACET project will replace and transform legacy Financial Aid Management (FAM) mainframe system with Oracle's Vocado Student Financial Planning (Vocado SFP) a student-centric, highly-automated, and scalable solution which delivers federal regulatory updates and modern technology critical to supporting UCLA students and families.
The Sr. Project Manager will focus on managing all workstreams, collaborating with project leads and program owners to develop and execute the project plans for each application release and post-implementation support.
Activities include: Develop and maintain complex project plans while ensuring overall delivery at each phase of the project; ensures project aligns demands with appropriate level of resources to ensure project meets the define objectives and delivery schedule. Collaborates with all workstream leads to ensure the project progress in accordance with the project plans; Lead project status reporting and collaborate with the Program Director on creating and reviewing Executive reporting and Steering Committee meeting materials; monitor project resource requirements and coordinate recruiting and on-boarding staff and consultants for the project; Define and improve project methodologies and toolset; partner with the Program Director to coordinate both team internal meetings and meetings with external stakeholders; monitor project milestones and key metrics; review risks/issues and create mitigation/solution on a regular basis; oversee Technology, Change Management, Training and Communications activities to ensure organizational readiness for the transition to the new platform, processes and features. Collaborates with the Senior Project Manager, FACET Transition Readiness to create and document approach for Go-Live stabilization including user support (business users, application system support including configuration developers, integration platform and interface management, students and student proxies). Ensures project financial wellness through efficient and effective oversight of project budget.
