Uses experience as a seasoned image analysis professional with a broad understanding of image analysis, manipulation, segmentation and visualization tools, techniques and software. Applies skills to process images for clinical patient diagnosis, longitudinal monitoring and pre-surgical planning.
Works closely with the technical lead for the 3DLab to develop and support the imaging software systems used by the lab. This includes managing 3rd party application software, upgrades, vendor communications as well as maintaining and developing in-house image analysis packages used by the lab.
The Center for Intelligent Imaging (Ci2) 3DLab within the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging is dedicated to delivering clinically relevant advanced visualization of medical images in a timely fashion to the UCSF medical community. Ci2 3DLab provides 3D post-processing and quantification of multi-planar radiological images, such as CT and MR for clinical, and clinical research use. The center houses and operates computer systems and advanced medical imaging software used for post-processing.
These activities require use of advanced imaging software and computer systems interconnected with clinical imaging and electronic health record databases to obtain necessary information regarding patients. The work is done under various regulatory guidelines for protection of patient information and adherence to clinical workflow timelines that directly impact patient care.
