Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Assistant will support all duties related to payroll functions and the Department???s payroll team.
Assist team with all payroll related requests submitted in payroll ticket tracking system. This includes tickets related to salary distributions, cost transfers, salary changes, additional compensation, new hires, resignations, MOUs and combocodes.
Prepare required backup documentation.
Assist with investigating and resolving payroll issues.
Assist with annual budget and salary roster processes.
Help distribute payroll reports and tools.
Assist with communications with divisions.
Responsible for bi-weekly payroll process which includes timesheets collection checking for accuracy, and updating the log accordingly.
Responsible for the management of the electronic file systems. Scan and catalog all payroll documents.
Maintain file sharing folders to ensure data is well organized and up to date.
Create documentation of payroll processes and procedures.
Other duties or special projects as assigned
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
Advanced MS Excel skills
Experience with PAC and CU Payroll/HR Policies and procedures
Must successfully complete online systems training requirements
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills required.
Must be detailed oriented, analytical and approach work sensitively and efficiently within the policies, procedures and regulatory requirements of the University.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, is required
