As part of the Office of International Education, the Global Engagement department advances strategic initiatives in relation to international education and intercultural learning at one of the most diverse universities in the United States. Global Engagement initiatives provide intercultural programs that connect our US and international student populations, trainings and assessments that enhance cultural understanding for all members of the UTA community, ongoing support in a variety of areas for international students from more than 100 countries, and global education opportunities. The International Program Coordinator role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, gain professional experience in the field of international education, and make an impact in the lives of thousands of international students from around the world. Your work will support their adjustment to the United States through initiatives that are aimed at enhancing academic, social, and professional success as well as creating global awareness for the university at large.
Coordinate and promote international student events, programs, seminars, and workshops such as International Week, New International Student Orientation, and Global Grounds International Coffee Hour, and International Education Week. Collaborate with various campus departments and organizations to provide informational and social programs.Create, develop, and implement new programs as well as enhance existing programs. This includes recruiting and training International Peer Advisors to assist with the orientation process and advising the International Student Organization in all of their efforts to plan cultural events and coordinate a more internationally aware campus.Reach out to the local community to promote a positive social experience for international students.
