What you’ll be doing...
Verizon’s Legal College Internship Program for NJ LEEP Alumni seeks to continue Verizon’s relationship with NJ LEEP by helping the professional development of NJ LEEP Alumni. This internship will provide exposure to the practice of law in a corporate legal setting and introduce interns to the diverse and complex nature of in-house legal practice at Verizon.
Interns will work in partnership with Verizon’s 1L Summer Law Interns and contribute to meaningful projects in our in-house legal department. You will use your drive and enthusiasm to contribute to and learn about the diverse areas of law covered by our corporate legal department. Interns will also have the opportunity to work with different areas of the Verizon legal department, including Verizon’s worldwide Pro Bono Program. What you learn will help you grow professionally and personally.
In this role, you may have the opportunity to:
Research and summarize legal developments and/or case law in practice areas such as Real Estate, Product Development, M&A, Compliance, Labor and Employment, IP, Tax and Privacy.
Contribute to projects that relate to state and/or federal regulatory issues affecting the communications industry.
Participate in business, sales and marketing meetings.
Support negotiations with customers and/or vendors by drafting documents such as summaries and contract provisions.
Review and draft provisions for our technology and software sourcing contracts.
Produce written work product subject to our confidentiality restrictions.
Go on field trips to different offices, Verizon retail stores, the technology office, aviation units, and more to learn about different aspects of the law.

You’ll need to have:
Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor's program.
Completed The NJ Leep Program.
Must be 18 years or older.
Even better if you have:
Interest and intent in pursuing a legal degree.
Demonstrated strong verbal, written, communications and presentation skills.
Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management, and attention to detail.
Demonstrated analytical and leadership skills.
