SUMMARY We are working with a manufacturer of highly customized and extremely diverse specialty products to identify an experienced Production Supervisor for a newly created Print on Demand department. Known for high volume and quick turnaround production, our client produces and ships product to over 100 countries across the globe. In summary, the Print on Demand Production Supervisor will lead and guide all aspect of production in a dynamic environment, to ensure effective delivery of high-quality printed products on time and ensure profitable growth of the business. Dramatic increases are expected in this department and this individual will serve as a change agent and heavily influence the performance of the operation. As a supervisor, this person will resolve problems using Lean methods and tools to deliver process improvement, eliminate waste, and deliver performance metrics that tie directly to bottom line profit.
POSITION Fundamental tasks include: • Developing/executing a manufacturing plan and production schedule that ensures on time delivery while managing costs. • Seeking to improve the organization’s performance and competitive positioning through continuous improvement of production related processes. • Taking the lead on fostering a growth mindset among the team. Print on Demand will scale rapidly, and the operation must be able to change to accept the challenges to keep up with that demand. • Reviewing quality and safety performance metrics and identifying corrective actions. • Leading/directing the work of other employees. • Hiring/Training/Developing personnel in new processes and tools. • Improving Productivity to department goals and reducing costs to meet or exceed budget expense target. • Improving quality performance, as measured by customer credits and internal waste. • Developing programs for operator level quality and performance.
BASE REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered. • Minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations with 3+ years in a management level role. • Experience with digital printing a plus. • Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus. • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint fluency required). Experience with Illustrator a plus. • Ability to work flexible hours as required to support area of responsibility. • Capability to lift up to 45 lbs. and use dollies and pallets. • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
