Identifies, evaluates, designs and builds solutions that improve the productivity and efficiency of the business. Builds the electronic solution in the implementation support of the EHR for revenue cycle, clinical and ancillary area. Designs and builds through the use of their expertise and skill in data collection, analysis and technical support. Defines requirements for the development of education and training programs.
Collaborates with business analysts on the client's business processes to ensure proper system configuration. Is responsible for building, testing, implementation & documentation. Coordinates with the training team to develop application specific training curriculums and materials.
Facilitates the mapping of current workflows and the development of new workflows to support the implementation of new functionality. Maintains models and documentation for: business and system requirements, system configuration, design and build.
Participates in system implementation/deployment of the application systems. Troubleshoots and optimizes any functional issues that may arise.
Logs, tracks, analyzes, and coordinates all system changes, including any software code implementations, as well as resolving issues related to software code modifications or enhancements.
Designs and develops system setup specifications, configuration implementation, testing and data dictionary documentation for application data elements. Prepares test scripts and materials as well as performing unit, system and integrated testing tasks.
Provides ongoing operational system support and resolves escalated issues. Interacts with vendors on problem determination, resolution, issue tracking, upgrades and fixes.
Manages and adheres to regulatory requirements, quality standards and best practices for systems and processes. Participates in system audits and process reviews to ensure excellence.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
3 to 5 years of experience in one or more aspects of building and supporting electronic health systems. Prior health care experience preferred.
Knowledge: Working knowledge of health information systems interfacing and integration.
Bachelor's Degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science or related industry required or equivalent education and experience.
