Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, PDSO/RO the Associate Director of Comprehensive Advising provides leadership and oversight of comprehensive advising processes and procedures for international students and scholars at Northeastern University’s Boston campus.
The Associate Director provides support and oversight for all SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) compliance functions and serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO). Maintains full regulatory oversight leading to a precise schedule of SEVIS reportable events and registrations as required by current immigration regulations; Manages comprehensive range of international student and scholar advising functions and makes referrals to relevant campus support as required; Supports key enrollment management initiatives related to international students; Ensures the delivery of holistic advising, support, and services aimed at contributing to the integration, retention, and overall achievements of international students and scholars; Collaborates with OGS managers and campus stakeholders to develop, design, and implement programs and infrastructures needed to support and enrich the international student and scholar experience; Contributes to the planning and implementation of international student orientation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required, 3+ years of Higher Education experience in International advising.
Supervisory experience, knowledge of F-1 Visas and J Visas, must be DSO (Designated School Official).
