The Implementation and Sleep Health System Specialist will be an essential member of an OHSU team responsible for the implementation and evaluation components of a large, nationwide demonstration program of new models for sleep medicine diagnosis and treatment for Veterans. The TeleSleep program focuses on integrating information and diagnostic technology into sleep medicine including home sleep testing, video visits, and electronic consultations. The TeleSleep program is nationwide, and functions in a hub-spoke model in which medical centers (the hubs) support increased access to high quality sleep care in community-based practices (the spokes).
The Implementation Specialist will be a respiratory therapist and sleep technologist with understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea and other sleep disorders as well as an understanding of health systems, information systems, and health services organization.
The position will focus on setting up workflows and integrating the clinical information systems needed to support the expansion of TeleSleep to new sites. This will involve collaborating with a National Program Office as well as various Veterans Administration offices and stakeholders to first identify sites for expansion and then provide the informatics support and technical assistance each site requires. Technical assistance will focus on integrating electronic health records, testing and device data, creating and implementing systems that facilitate consultants and data transfer, while assuring that accreditation standards and regulatory requirements are met.
This 0.80FTE position will involve predominately remote work. Work will be conducted both from the employees home and 20-30% travel to VA locations nationwide.
Masters Degree with major courses in relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's Degree with major courses in field of research and 5 years of relevant experience

2 years of experience Managing Sleep or Respiratory Services
2 years of experience working with multi-component clinical information systems
Knowledge of health care delivery systems
Ability to navigate complex systems

Facility with general office software (e.g., MS Office, Adobe Acrobat) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Teams, WebEx)
Registered Respiratory Therapist licensed in Oregon, or ability to obtain
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist
Ability to obtain WOC (without compensation) status and data access in the Portland VA Health Care System
Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.Degree required for Respiratory Therapy licensing at the time applicant entered field
10 years of experience in Sleep Care
5 years of experience in Clinical Sleep Care
5 years of experience managing Sleep or Respiratory Services
5 years of experience evaluating, designing, or implementing multi-component clinical information systems
2 years of experience in Adult Education or Professional Training
Demonstrated skills in integrating multiple components of clinical information systems
Ability to assess staff knowledge and customize training and technical assistance
Experience implementing telehealth programs
Experience with sleep software such as Somnoware or WatchPAT
Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist
Current or prior WOC (without compensation) status and data access in the Portland VA Health Care System
