We currently have an opening for a Compliance Advisory & Monitoring Leader - Technology . This position can be staffed in the Richmond, VA, Atlanta, GA, Irving, TX or Columbus, OH offices.
The Compliance Leader will act as a subject matter expert on operationalizing requirements related to data privacy and IT systems as well as other health care regulatory controls embedded in the company's ecosystem the goal of which is to be assessing and continuously improving the strength of the company's compliance program in these areas.
The Compliance Leader will be tasked with conducting reviews on McKesson's controls and compliance program in multiple areas including advising on policies, procedures, training, communications, and controls. In addition, this role will develop and execute monitoring program and will drive and formally document all monitoring and monitoring test work performed. In some instances, this role will provide advisory support, including surge resource, on risk assessed implementations.
The ideal candidate will have meaningful experience in establishing data privacy/compliance program monitoring programs in data-heavy and complex IT environments
Lead compliance "deep-dive" reviews and monitoring activities based upon a comprehensive understanding of the company's risk profile and compliance control framework, with particular focus on data privacy and complex healthcare IT systems and networks
Plan, execute, and effectively collaborate on integrated monitoring reviews and process assessments with other functions, such as Legal, Internal Audit, Quality, etc
Advise various McKesson business units on approaches for operationalizing requirements including but not limited to controls, policies, training, monitoring, and auditing
Develop formal written reports to communicate monitoring findings to management, assess root cause, and make recommendations on corrective and preventative actions as appropriate
Facilitate obtaining corrective action plans for issues noted as needed
Ensure that monitoring findings, associated root causes, and corrective action plans are understood, well-defined, documented/tracked, and presented to Compliance leadership and business unit management
Lead post engagement issue follow up and resolution. Assist Compliance colleagues in implementing new controls that enhance the company's compliance program, with focus on data privacy
Assist in the preparation of and provide subject matter expertise to risk assessments/audit plans
Support other department initiatives and deliverables as needed.
Exercise professional judgment and propose value-added solutions in all aspects of engagement execution.
7+ years of relevant compliance and/or audit work experience, with focus on data privacy, compliance programs, and complex IT solutions at a government agency, law/consulting firm, or Fortune 500 company.
Experience with operationalizing privacy/compliance controls, policies, procedures, training, monitoring and auditing, preferably in the healthcare or other highly-regulated industry
Strong understanding of IT architecture concepts and their impact on data privacy
Strong knowledge of healthcare data privacy industry standards and best practices for effective compliance programs
Excellent process analysis skills. Outstanding ability to manipulate significant amounts of data and perform data analyses to support process improvement recommendations
Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation and consultative skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills as well as problem-solving capabilities
Ability to build and foster strong relationships with business, compliance and regulatory professionals throughout the organization
Hands-on, with demonstrated leadership skills
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Understanding of compliance program elements and healthcare regulatory obligations
Previous experience managing and driving execution of projects collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment.
Audit experience, preferably with a consulting firm or medical device/pharma company
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to express an independent viewpoint
An outstanding record of academic achievement, including an undergraduate degree (required). A law degree and/or masters' degree are preferred.
Relevant Compliance Certifications or Licensure Preferable
