The duties and responsibilities of a Corporate Action Specialist is to provide superior operational / middle office support for Corporate Actions and taking proactive measures to minimize all associated risks:
Monitor and Review Corporate Action events from depository/vendor systems and ensure RMs are notified.
Review and Monitor client responses relating to voluntary events, transmit the instructions to depositories and follow up on any pending instruction.
Daily Booking / Monitoring / Reconciliation of Corporate Actions related transactions.
Resolving Issues submitted by RM's by coordinating with Depositories.
Maintain procedures for all major functions.
Resolve any issue submitted by Product Managers / RM's and enhance client service experience.

Ensure timeliness and accuracy of responses, adherence to internal policies and external regulations and maximized contribution to economic profit. Coordinate activities with other areas of the Company as required to ensure smooth implementation of new and/or enhanced processes.

To implement the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Global Business Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.

Management of Risk
Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
