Responsibilities and Authorities:
Directs the operations and activities of BARC’s fiber-to-the-premise subsidiary, to include managing employees, preparing reports, establishing budgets, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining and managing assets.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the network required to provide data, voice, and video service to subscribers, as well as back office networking required for administrative support.
Maintains day-to-day security of networks and servers including operating systems and applications.
Works closely with third party vendors (e.g. Tier 1, billing, outside plant, VOiP, iPTV) as well as equipment and hardware vendors.
Provides support to subscriber support team to enable subscribers to access the network successfully.
Oversees maintenance of all network devices with all firmware and software updates and security patches and features.
Promotes and maintains a safe working environment, observes all safety rules, and supports BARC Connects in carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
Supports and keeps abreast of bylaws, guidelines, policies/procedures and philosophies.
Researches new and emerging technologies to further goals of the company. Evaluates new business and expansion opportunities and recommends new services to the CEO.
Implements and operates the FTTP network within the financial projections and budget. If modifications are required develops budget/plan amendments with financial analysis for CEO approval.
Establishes and implements goals within guidelines established by the CEO.
Ensures operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Represents the company with regulatory agencies, legislative bodies, and industry associations.
Promotes and maintains a safe working environment, observes all safety rules, and supports BARC’s Mission, Core Values, and Vision in carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
Regularly confers with other BARC departments to offer assistance as needed. Works closely with all personnel to ensure overall success of the subsidiary and its parent organization.
Maintains great relations with vendors, contractors, subscribers, customers, and the general public in carrying out the responsibilities of this position. Work with consultants as required ensuring the success of the FTTP deployment and ongoing operations.
Performs other duties as assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the company and this position.

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Technology related field required. Practical experience in managing or directing an ISP required. Must have demonstrated advanced knowledge of networking technologies. Must have technical knowledge of LAN/WAN; routing, switches, telephony, and security devices – IOS; VoIP; IPTV technologies; and Fiber optic technologies.
