Position is open to a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist.
Work Schedule: Full-Time Days
(Flexibility is required to see patients during scheduled appointments/walk-in's during Surgeon Hand Clinic Days)
Evaluates and treats patient populations for therapy needs, specializing in one or more areas of therapy expertise. Evaluate the clinical performance of the department in area of expertise.
Our hand therapy clinicians work closely with a Hand Surgeon who has direct access to our outpatient clinics. The CHT team and surgeon have developed progressive protocols surrounding new surgical techniques.
The clinic offers splinting for both repetitive and surgical injuries. We see patients from Northwest Colorado and WY. Coverage for outlying clinics is required.
Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
Guide peer therapists on complex/difficult evaluations in area(s) of specialization.
Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires. Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
Mentors others in area of specialty care sharing current literature, research, and best practice.
Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs. Serves as a resource for specialty area through education to patients, families and peer therapists.
Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards. Serves as intra-and inter-departmental resource.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. Preferred: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy.
Required Licensure/Certification: Current licensure with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies to practice Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Hand Therapist Certification through approved agency.
Minimum Experience: 5 years of experience in area of clinical specialty required.
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
The pay range for this position is: $33.82 - $50.73 / hour
An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
