DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Information Security Manager will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of the systems necessary to ensure the security and safety of University of Redlands computing systems, networks, users and data. This role is also responsible for evaluating security needs based on provider or regulatory requirements and current industry trends. Also responsible for providing assistance in maintaining systems support throughout the network.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide expertise in management of security systems to include:
Microsoft office 365 suite
Cloud technologies and services
SSO, MFA, SAML
Windows Systems management
Log correlation/aggregation tools
Data Loss Prevention and CASB products
Ensure compliance with information security frameworks, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
Design and maintain Disaster Recovery plans.
Communicate and implement industry best practices and solutions employed in the information security space.
Ability to communicate effectively across a wide group of people and audiences.
Working industry knowledge of Information Technology to lead in functional area and provide administrative support
Perform Vulnerability Management and Penetration Testing
Reviewing technical security concerns during platform evaluations.
Make Information Security policy recommendations.
Manage user security training initiatives and promote cybersecurity awareness through social media outreach.
Provide metrics and deliverables upon requests and as needed
Interact with student workers and/or InfoSec Interns.
Other duties and projects as assigned or directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Technology or Information Systems related field is required. Master's degree in a related field is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in a similar position or equivalent combination is required A current DMV printout demonstrating a good driving record must be presented prior to offer of employment. Must have knowledge of PowerShell scripting language and skilled in policy/report writing. Must have considerable knowledge of hardware, software, and networking for PC and Macintosh computers with an emphasis on Windows 10 and Mac OS. Must also have experience with a broad array of computing platforms and systems within a distributed computing environment and possess knowledge of VMware ESXi virtualization, Powershell or other scripting languages. Must have excellent written and verbal skills; handle multiple tasks and be able to work under minimal supervision. Successful candidate must have a proven ability to learn and apply complex procedures, combine high productivity with accuracy and attention to detail; demonstrate an ability to meet schedules and deadlines with minimal supervision, have experience working in a networked environment and as part of a team. Must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
