We are seeking a Sr Manager, Lab Development to join our team in our Richmond, VA or Jacksonville, FL location.
There is rapid and material change in laboratory diagnostics (IVD); many products take years to develop and bring to market, and it is imperative that McKesson stays ahead of this innovation curve. In so doing, we will further McKesson's competitive position and ability achieve better business health for our customers and better care for all through improved laboratory diagnostics. This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing new diagnostic technologies, new diagnostics manufacturers, and new market opportunities to drive growth.
Generate, cultivate, and expand opportunities for long-term growth from markets and partners. Establish key partnerships and alliances with other organizations and identify and evaluate new diagnostic technologies.
Leverage the expertise, infrastructure, or intellectual property of McKesson and partner organizations to drive revenue, reach new audiences, and/or increase distribution with innovative diagnostic products.
Collaborate cross-functionally in the development of the business plan, strategy, and goals for new technologies. Perform competitive analysis, track industry trends, and maintain extensive knowledge of market conditions.
Understand the full value of McKesson (Medical and full Enterprise) and passionately convey this to new IVD makers.
Support identification and vetting of new product / manufacturer opportunities. Evaluations cover IVD technology/feasibility, business plans (commercialization, service, market potential, financials of company), etc.
Support management and prioritization of funnel of opportunities; socialize routinely. Support discussions to decide opportunities to pursue with agreements, pilots, and potential product launch. Lead negotiations, pilots and launches; rigorous project planning and RACI.
Work closely with manufacturers in the development of products - selling data and other services to aid in development.
7+ years of relevant experience
3+ years experience with in-depth clinical laboratory and/or healthcare business development
1+ years experience evaluating industry trends, understanding long-term implications and recommending strategies for new business opportunities in diagnostics
Advanced proficiency with MS Office
Excellent communications skills and the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization to drive commercialization
Strategic and analytical thinker
Superior project management skills
Excellent Problem-solving skills
Sound judgment and a willingness to resolve issues and problems in a timely manner
Experience with financial analysis and negotiations
Ability to anticipate change and direct or redirects efforts

Extensive laboratory experience - especially Molecular technologies.
4-year degree or equivalent experience (Chemistry, Biology, or other science background may be helpful)
